Simply the Best Detection System Available
Developed and Manufactured by Minerva biolabs.
Mycoplasma are frequently found as contaminants in cell cultures. Studies have shown the incidence of mycoplasma contamination ranges from 5% - 87% of cell cultures examined. Unlike bacteria and fungi, contamination with mycoplasma usually does not result in turbid growth in cultures or with macroscopic alteration of the cells. However, mycoplasma contamination may cause adverse effects, such as changes in metabolism; growth; viability; DNA, RNA and protein synthesis; morphology and virus propagation etc. Thus, mycoplasma contamination in cell cultures leads to unreliable experiment results and unsafe biological products. Testing for mycoplasma is a necessary quality control to assure accurate research and reliable biotechnological products.
BENEFITS OF MYCOPLASMA DETECTION KIT
High Sensitivity - Detects as low as 1-5 fg of mycoplasma DNA that correspond to 2-5 mycoplasma per sample.
Broad Detection Range - Commonly encountered mycoplasma contaminants can be detected: M. arginini, M. fermentans, M.gallisepticum, M. hyorhinis, M. orale, M. pirum, M. pneumoniae which account for more than 96% of mycoplasma contaminants in cell cultures. Evidence shows mycoplasma DNA in plants and insects can also be detected.
Good Specificity - No specific amplification of mammalian or bacterial DNAs tested.
Species Identification - The amplification product can be used to identify the species of mycoplasma by size determination and restriction enzyme digestion.
Speedy and Easy to Use - Provides clear, easy-to-read results in les than one day.

Mynox® - A Mycoplasma Elimination Reagent of a new generation.
Mycoplasma contamination of cell cultures is a serious and widespread problem. A positive-tested culture usually had to be discarded since treatment with standard antibiotics is undesirable and an ineffective means of elimination. The mycoplasma reagent Mynox® is a novel anti-mycoplasma agent characterized by the following:
Key Features
Mynox® is the first biological reagent that eliminates mycoplasma by killing them, and not just by inhibiting growth. Mynox® has been shown to be effective with only one treatment, where mycoplasmas are usually destroyed within one hour. In cell cultures, Mynox needs to be present only during one passage to eliminate all mycoplasma permanently. Mynox® is not an antibiotic; its activity is based on a biophysical mechanism, so no development of resistant strains. And, when used as directed, Mynox is safe in cell cultures and virus stocks. Mynox® is easily removed after treatment by replacing the culture medium. Mynox® is stable, sterile, and shipped as a ready-to-use solution in phosphate-buffered saline. Mynox® is available in package sizes of 2, 5, and 10 treatments {Cat.No. 10-0200(MYN-200)/10-0500(MYN500)/10-1000(MYN1000}, aliquoted for single applications.
Results obtained when using Mynox®

Electron micrographs showing effects of Mynox when applied to contaminated cell cultures. Left figure shows a mycoplasma contaminated cell culture before treatment. With one application of Mynox, membranes of all mycoplasma are destroyed while the tissue cell membrane is unaffected (right figure). Black arrows indicate mycoplasma, white arrows part of a tissue cell.

Spray Disinfectant for Incubators and Sterile Cabinets in Cell Culture Area
Free of Aldehydes
Biocidal ZF has been especially designed for the needs in cell
culture laboratories.
It is effective against bacteria, fungi, spores (also spore forming units) and enveloped
viruses.
Biocidal ZF provides a double protection
As active microbiocidal ingredients are non-volatile they protect cell
cultures from microbial contamination but do not invade cell cultures via air.
Thus cell cultures are protected from toxic effects of the disinfectant itself.
Spray every 14 days after cleaning incubators and sterile bench and let
dry.
Outside surfaces of cell culture flasks may also be treated. Take care that disinfectant
does not have access to inside of flasks.
Active Ingredients :
Quaternary ammonium compounds - free of aldehydes
Precautions :
Avoid eyes and skin contact
Disposal :
Biologically degradable
Materials compatibility :
Universal inclusive fittings within incubators and sterile cabinets
Storage :
Room temperature
Ordering information : Biocidal ZF Spray bottle
