2-Keto-D-galactose inhibits DNA synthesis and inhibits the proliferation of in vitro grown Ehrlich ascites tumor cells.This compound is unstable in powder form and other related salt forms are recommended.
In vitro
A concentration of 1-2 mM 2-Keto-D-galactose completely inhibits the proliferation of in vitro grown Ehrlich ascites tumor cells without significantly impacting viability (dye exclusion test). At 2 mM, 2-Keto-D-galactose also comparably inhibits DNA synthesis.
