It is active against a variety of bacteria, including S. pyogenes, C. diphtheriae, E. coli, and H. influenzae (MICs = 31, 15.6, 125, and 31ug/ml, respectively), as well as clinical isolates of N. gonorrhoeae (MICs = 1.9-15.6ug/ml). Formulations containing cephalosporin C have been used in the treatment of various bacterial infections.
