Ficoll® 400 (Polysucrose 400) is a nonionic, hydrophilic, readily water-soluble copolymer of sucrose and epichlorhydrin used in density gradient separation of cells and subcellular components and as an ingredient in hybridization buffers (Denhardt’s solution). Autoclavable at neutral pH. Particle diameter in solution: 10nm. Polysucrose 400 is a neutral and low osmotic medium, widely applied in the separation of cells, virus cells, and cell membranes.
