Buffer
If the delivery form is liquid, the default storage buffer is Tris/PBS-based buffer, 5%-50% glycerol. If the delivery form is lyophilized powder, the buffer before lyophilization is Tris/PBS-based buffer, 6% Trehalose.
Reconstitution
We recommend briefly centrifuging the vial prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Reconstitute the lyophilized protein in sterile deionized water to a recommended concentration of 0.1–1.0 mg/mL. If used immediately after reconstitution, glycerol is not required. If not for immediate use, after the protein is completely dissolved, add glycerol to a final concentration of 5%–50% (default: 50%), aliquot as needed, and store at -20℃/-80℃ for long-term storage. If dilution is needed during subsequent use, dilute with the same buffer as the protein, but without stabilizers (e.g., glycerol, trehalose, etc).
Troubleshooting and FAQs
Storage Condition
Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Shelf Life
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.
Notes
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week.

Description
Recombinant Enterococcus faecalis Gelatinase (gelE) gets expressed in E.coli and comes with an N-terminal 6xHis-SUMO tag that makes purification straightforward. The product appears to represent the full length of the mature protein, spanning amino acids 193-510. SDS-PAGE analysis confirms it reaches purity levels greater than 90%, which likely ensures minimal contamination for precise experimental outcomes. This product is strictly for research use only and should not be used in diagnostic or therapeutic applications. Gelatinase from Enterococcus faecalis is a notable metalloprotease that...

■ Q&A
Q:
I want to know whether CSB-EP769310ELW is active form of E. faecalis gelE
A:
We haven't tested its activity, so its activity is not guaranteed. This is a full length of mature protein and we adopt affinity chromatography for purification, which is purified under a very mild condition, it's active theoretically. We suggest you add 1 mM Ca ion when testing. For more details, please visit this read this reference article:...
Target Background
Function
Metalloprotease capable of the hydrolysis of insoluble hydrophobic substrates. Hydrolyzes azocoll and gelatin and, at a lower rate, soluble and insoluble collagens. Does not cleave short synthetic peptides. Preferentially hydrolyzes the 24-Phe-|-Phe-25 bond in the insulin B-chain, followed by the 5-His-|-Leu-6 bond. Inactivates endothelin-1, primarily by cleavage of the 5-Ser-|-Leu-6 and 16-His-|-Leu-17 bonds. Hydrolyzes the alpha chain of C3 to generate a C3b-like protein. Inhibits complement-mediated hemolysis and opsinization of bacteria. Hydrolyzes the insect antimicrobial peptide...
Gene References into Functions
- E. faecalis gelatinase requires C-terminal processing for full activation of protease activity. The processing site is likely to be between residues D304 and I305 and that it requires the Q306 residue.
