Protein A/G Magnetic Beads are high-performance affinity particles. They consist of recombinant Protein A (25 kDa) and Protein G (25 kDa), which are covalently coupled to nanoscale amino magnetic beads. These proteins retain only sequences related to binding the Fc-terminal of IgG and remove sequences that might cause non-specific binding. The beads contain four Fc binding domains from Protein A and two from Protein G. They are used for antibody purification from samples like serum, cell culture supernatant, and ascites. They also work in immunological methods such as immunoblotting, IP, Co-IP, and Ch-IP. Their roles include capturing target antigens and analyzing protein-protein interactions, with reduced non-specific binding.
