Viral mimic of eIF-2-alpha that acts as a pseudosubstrate for EIF2AK2/PKR kinase. Inhibits therefore eIF-2-alpha phosphorylation by host EIF2AK2/PKR kinase and prevents protein synthesis shutoff.

Recombinant protein corresponding to aa1-88 from vaccinia virus K3L, fused to His-SUMO-Tag at N-terminal expressed in E. coli.

Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months after receipt at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
