CD56/NCAM-1 BioAssay™ ELISA Kit (Monkey)

Neural Cell Adhesion Molecule, NCAM, also known as the cluster of differentiation CD56, is a hemophilic binding glycoprotein. It is a glycoprotein of Immunoglobulin(Ig) super family. At least 27 alternatively spliced NCAM mRNAs are produced, giving a wide diversity of NCAM isoforms NCAM gene is located at 11q22-q23. This glycoprotein is mainly expressed on the surface of neurons, glia, skeletal muscle and natural killer cells. NCAM has been implicated as having a role in cell–cell adhesion, neurite outgrowth, synaptic plasticity, and learning and memory.

This CD56/NCAM-1 BioAssay™ Kit employs a sandwich ELISA method for use in the quantitative detection of monkey CD56/NCAM-1 in cell culture supernates, serum, plasma (heparin or EDTA).

Specificity:
Recognizes natural and recombinant monkey CD56/NCAM-1. There is no detectable cross-reactivity with other relevant proteins.

Assay Principle:
A monoclonal antibody from mouse specific for Monkey CD56/NCAM-1 has been precoated onto 96-well plates. Standards(Expression system for standard: NSO; Immunogen sequence: L20-G718) and test samples are added to the wells, a biotinylated detection polyclonal antibody from goat specific for Monkey CD56/NCAM-1 is added subsequently and then followed by washing with PBS or TBS buffer. Avidin-Biotin-Peroxidase Complex was added and unbound conjugates were washed away with PBS or TBS buffer. HRP substrate TMB was used to visualize HRP enzymatic reaction. TMB was catalyzed by HRP to produce a blue color product that changed into yellow after adding acidic stop solution. The density of yellow is proportional to the 215 Monkey CD56/NCAM-1 amount of sample captured in plate.

Storage and Stability:
Store powder at 4°C liquid at -20°C. Store other components at 4°C. Stable for at least 6 months For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
