Rabbit Thyroid Tissue Pieces and Blocks

Rabbit Thyroid Tissue Pieces and Blocks

Rabbit thyroid tissue and blocks are widely used in endocrine research, thyroid physiology, toxicologic pathology, comparative pathology, and translational studies. The rabbit thyroid exhibits well-defined follicular architecture composed of thyroglobulin-containing follicles lined by polarized follicular epithelial cells, making it a valuable model for investigating thyroid hormone biosynthesis, iodide metabolism, follicular growth and functional adaptation, and hypothalamic–pituitary–thyroid axis regulation. Preserved thyroid tissues enable detailed histological, immunohistochemical, molecular, and morphometric analyses while maintaining the structural organization required to evaluate normal physiology and experimentally induced pathological changes. Rabbit thyroid specimens are also employed to investigate thyroid responses to iodine deficiency or excess, endocrine-disrupting chemicals, radiation exposure, oxidative stress, autoimmune thyroid disorders, and tissue repair following experimental injury.

Key Features

  • Preserved Thyroid Architecture : Maintains native thyroid follicular architecture and stromal organization.

  • Broad Analytical Compatibility : Suitable for histology, immunohistochemistry (IHC), immunofluorescence (IF), RNA and protein expression analyses, in situ hybridization (ISH), and spatial molecular profiling, depending on tissue preservation method.

  • Supports Thyroid Biology Studies : Enables investigation of thyroid hormone synthesis and signaling, including thyroglobulin (TG), thyroid peroxidase (TPO), sodium-iodide symporter (NIS/SLC5A5), thyroid-stimulating hormone receptor (TSHR), and thyroid transcription factor-1 (TTF-1/NKX2-1).

  • Compatible with Endocrine Pathology Research : Supports studies of endocrine toxicology, oxidative stress, inflammation, fibrosis, follicular cell proliferation, and apoptosis.

  • Quantitative Tissue Analysis : Useful for quantitative histomorphometry, digital pathology, and biomarker validation.

Typical Research Applications

  • Thyroid physiology and hypothalamic–pituitary–thyroid (HPT) axis regulation.

  • Thyroid hormone biosynthesis, iodide transport, and iodine metabolism.

  • Experimental models of hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, and altered thyroid function.

  • Endocrine toxicology, radiation biology, and endocrine-disrupting chemical research.

  • Autoimmune thyroid disease, inflammatory responses, and mechanisms of thyroid injury and repair.

  • Comparative endocrine pathology, biomarker discovery, and translational thyroid research.
